The Monitoring Association (TMA) has announced its recognition of Motorola Solutions as a Platinum Communications Partner, highlighting the company’s instrumental role in bolstering public safety through the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). This acknowledgment underscores Motorola Solutions’ efforts to enhance telecommunicator wellness and modernise digital communication between monitoring centres and public safety agencies.

Motorola Solutions, a prominent provider of computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems, advocates for the adoption of ASAP by emergency communication centres (ECCs), facilitating connectivity to ASAP Service within its CAD solutions. In 2025, Motorola introduced a cloud-based capability intended to simplify the integration of ASAP alarm data into emergency communications workflows. This feature has been expanded across its command centre software, including CommandCentral Aware, PremierOne, and Flex, to ensure seamless connectivity.

This integration supports public safety agencies in deploying the service with increased speed and reduced technical barriers. For those ECCs already utilising Motorola’s CAD systems, adding ASAP becomes a convenient extension of existing technology.

“Seconds can make all the difference in an emergency,” remarked Todd Piett, senior vice president, Command Center and Cloud Solutions at Motorola Solutions. “By creating a direct digital connection between alarm companies and 911 dispatch software through the ASAP Service, we can keep emergency lines open and reduce manual coordination for dispatchers.”

The use of ASAP AWS GovCloud capabilities provides ECCs with a streamlined means to receive alarm data directly into their CAD systems, eliminating manual call handling and reducing processing times and errors. This results in more informed responses, quicker dispatch times, heightened situational awareness for field responders, and reduced workload for telecommunicators, allowing them to focus on urgent priorities.

A practical example of this capability’s impact is evident in St. Joseph County, Indiana, the first in the nation to deploy the cloud-based alarm integration. Here, the county’s 911 centre is projected to save 350 hours annually, freeing up time to address the most critical emergencies. Karen Carlson, vice president and general manager of ASAP Service, stated, “Working with Motorola Solutions CAD systems enables us to meet agencies where they already are—within their existing CAD environments.”

Motorola Solutions continues to promote and deploy ASAP services actively, maintaining a collaborative relationship with TMA through regular sessions to monitor deployment progress. This active engagement reflects the dedication that earned Motorola Solutions the TMA’s Platinum Partner status.
