New CLIQ Readers and Updaters are extending the functionality of CLIQ digital key access management systems with enhanced applications for both indoor and outdoor environments.
By integrating seamlessly with existing CLIQ solutions, these innovations simplify the management of digital access devices, making it easier for organisations to broaden their security scope.
The latest additions to the CLIQ lineup are fully compatible with eCLIQ and PROTEC2 CLIQ solutions. These Readers and Updaters enable secure unlocking and easy updates to CLIQ keys.
The CLIQ Readers require users merely to insert their keys, with an LED providing visual confirmation, bypassing the need to turn the key and thus reducing wear and tear. Similarly, Updaters use intuitive LEDs to convey update and battery status to keyholders.
According to Ralf Stange, Product Manager at ASSA ABLOY, these new Readers are the first to achieve full integration with the CLIQ system. “Managing access is simple because the software treats a Reader just like a cylinder. The Updater facilitates cost-effective credential updates in external environments,” he explains.
The CLIQ Reader supports various management configurations with CLIQ Web Manager, Local Manager, and CLIQ Go for small enterprises. Users can set their preferred switch delay and choose between key insertion or removal as the activation trigger.
An optional remote relay unit adds an extra layer of security. The Reader can manage access to different types of doors and even activate devices like electric strikes and motorised locks.
Designed for outdoor use, the CLIQ Outdoor Reader features a robust stainless-steel housing, certified against water, dust (IP65), and vandalism (IK09). This ensures reliable performance for outdoor barriers, gates, and other entrances.
Additionally, the CLIQ Updater offers secure key updating outside buildings, without the need for network cables, simplifying installation for retrofits. Connected via RS485 cable to an existing CLIQ Wall PD, the Updater activates third-party devices without exposing security-related elements to the exterior.
CLIQ Readers and Updaters come in both flush and surface-mounted configurations, suitable for various applications. They can also be integrated with outdoor systems like steles and tableaus, offering seamless compatibility with solutions such as ASSA ABLOY’s DoorBird intercom. Stange adds that these devices provide facility managers with more comprehensive, flexible access protocols, supported by ASSA ABLOY’s extensive expertise in security technologies.
