ULTRALOQ, a prominent brand in smart lock technology under the global AIoT company Xthings, has announced that several of its smart lock models have obtained certification for Aliro. This open industry standard, developed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), allows secure storage of digital keys within smartphone wallets.
The certification covers a range of ULTRALOQ smart locks, including both deadbolt and latch types, providing advanced access control solutions for homeowners, property managers, and the hospitality sector. These locks enable users to unlock doors with a simple tap on compatible smartphones, enhancing convenience and security.
The introduction of Aliro certification means that homeowners can unlock their front doors as easily as using their smartphones for payments or transit, without the need for any additional apps. Property managers and hospitality firms can also benefit by issuing, updating, and revoking digital keys across multiple properties and doors seamlessly, leveraging the credential infrastructure embedded in the smartphones of users.
ULTRALOQ’s smart locks, enabled by Aliro, integrate with various mobile wallet platforms, such as Samsung Wallet, eliminating the requirement for separate lock applications or physical keys. This integration simplifies access for both operators and users.
Junho Hyun, the Head of Wallet BD2 Group at Samsung Electronics, emphasised the synergy: “Samsung Wallet is designed to act as a digital hub for users’ belongings (payment cards, IDs, car keys, etc.). The integration with Samsung Wallet through Aliro-certified ULTRALOQ smart locks is part of this customer experience. Now, Samsung Wallet customers can activate the easy tap-to-unlock feature for convenient home access control.”
Unlike proprietary systems that necessitate downloading specific apps, ULTRALOQ’s Aliro-certified locks work directly with existing smartphone wallet platforms. This reduces the operational complexity for users and operators alike.
Moreover, ULTRALOQ is also working on Matter-certified smart locks, which ensure compatibility across various smart home ecosystems. Together, Matter and Aliro provide a cohesive and accessible smart home experience. With its Aliro certification, ULTRALOQ is among the initial smart lock manufacturers driving the adoption of this new generation of digital access globally, for residential and commercial properties alike.
