In a pioneering initiative to enhance public safety and governance, Videonetics has implemented its Artificial Intelligence-driven Unified Video Management Platform across Andhra Pradesh’s 28 districts. This large-scale deployment forms a connected intelligence network that strengthens public security, optimises traffic regulation, and facilitates data-driven decisions throughout the state.
The cornerstone of this initiative is the unified platform that combines advanced video management, AI analytics, traffic management, electronic ticketing, and facial recognition in one cohesive system. Approximately 15,000 IP cameras have been strategically installed at key points, enabling continuous monitoring and seamless data transmission to a central command centre.
A major component of the new system is the sophisticated traffic management solution that operates across more than 680 intersections. This system automates the identification of traffic violations, such as speeding and signal jumps, and assists in spotting blacklisted vehicles, greatly reducing the need for manual supervision and enhancing enforcement uniformity.
Additionally, nearly 1,000 sites have been equipped with facial recognition systems, allowing law enforcement to identify individuals of interest by interfacing with sanctioned national databases, within regulatory limits. CCTV360 (RTGS) connects these 15,000 cameras with the state’s criminal records, traffic enforcement, and control systems, offering Andhra Pradesh police a streamlined operational view across every camera and district. This system has enabled swift action in the field, transforming what was once a slow, manually-intensive process into an efficient, near real-time operation.
“The true value of technology in policing lies not in the number of cameras, but in the outcomes for citizens. This platform has been instrumental in recovering missing children, arresting repeat offenders, locating stolen vehicles, and enhancing intelligence sharing between districts at an unprecedented level,” remarked Ch. Srikanth, IPS, Inspector General of Operations, Andhra Pradesh Police.
Since its full-scale operation, CCTV360 (RTGS) has achieved results that transcend simple enforcement statistics, including tracking a stolen vehicle across districts, identifying missing children within hours, and swiftly apprehending offenders with outstanding warrants.
Beyond individual successes, state officials note a decrease in crime rates, expedited investigations, and safer roads due to consistent, automated traffic enforcement. “Previously, reviewing CCTV footage manually resulted in delays. Now, the system alerts us to suspicious vehicles, wanted individuals, or missing persons within minutes, speeding up investigations and improving field efficiency,” stated Mrs. Malika Garg, IPS, Superintendent of Police (Operations), Andhra Pradesh Police.
