In a significant achievement for India’s surveillance technology industry, Sanjeev Sehgal, Founder and Managing Director of Sparsh CCTV, has been elected to the ONVIF Communications Committee, joining a distinguished group of global industry experts representing leading organisations in the physical security sector.
The appointment marks an important milestone for India’s growing role in shaping international video surveillance standards. Sehgal has been actively involved in advancing industry standards through his roles as Convener of the Video Surveillance Committee at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Co-Chair of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Champions for Made in India sub-group, and India’s representative at the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for global video surveillance standards.
Commenting on the appointment, Sehgal said the election provides an opportunity to represent the perspectives of the Indian surveillance industry on a global platform and contribute to the development of future-ready interoperability, cybersecurity and certification standards. He added that the recognition reflects India’s emergence as not only a major market for surveillance technology but also a contributor to global innovation, policy and best practices.
