Nedap has introduced the Compact Button, a new addition to its TRANSIT Tag portfolio, which promises enhanced vehicle identification performance and reliability in high-security environments.
The Compact Button comes equipped with a next-generation chip and is designed to deliver secure and seamless vehicle access in settings such as airports and industrial sites, ensuring efficient traffic flow. Its integration with existing TRANSIT systems allows for identification over distances of up to 15 meters when paired with the TRANSIT Ultimate reader.
Nedap’s TRANSIT portfolio is known for its range of vehicle and driver identification tags, including options like Booster tags for dual identification, the Heavy Duty Tag for large vehicles, and the popular round Window Button for windshield mounting. The Compact Button is a modernised version of these offerings, maintaining the high standards of security and innovation that Nedap is known for.
The newly designed Compact Button presents a sleek, less obtrusive profile, making it suitable for use in environments where appearance is important. It leverages advanced semi-active RFID technology to bolster security operations and bring a new level of functionality to vehicle identification.
The Compact Button is unique with its user activation feature, allowing it to be toggled on or off by the driver for heightened control during identification processes. This feature is beneficial in areas with high traffic or where access fees apply. Alternatively, users can opt for continuous operation, ensuring consistent identification without manual intervention.
Designed for windshield mounting, the Compact Button affixes with a strong suction pad that ensures easy installation without hindering the driver’s view. Moreover, its Read-Only programming, characterised by a unique security code and tag ID laser-engraved on the back, offers a robust layer of security by preventing unauthorised alterations.
Reflecting Nedap’s commitment to sustainability, the Compact Button features an 8-year lifespan with a replaceable battery, designed and manufactured using eco-friendly practices in The Netherlands. This commitment to sustainable sourcing and ethical labour not only minimises environmental impact but also assures users of the product’s longevity and reliability.
Edwin Grobbink, Product Manager at Nedap, emphasised the significance of this development: “The Compact Button is a significant leap forward for the TRANSIT Tag portfolio. Its compact design, advanced functionality, and sustainable features make it a worthy successor to our Window Button. We are excited to bring this next-generation solution to the market.” Security professionals are encouraged to explore the capacities and advantages offered by this innovative tag.
