HiQview is launching its first a PoE NVR, made up of a PoE switch and network video recorder combined, the HIQ-3416. The device is an original combination of two of the latest technologies creating a network video recorder and a PoE switch in one single unit that supports 16 IP cameras (upto 8-megapixels each) and 8 PoE ports.
The HIQ-3416 is designed to manage 16 IP cameras (max. 8-megapixel each) with an internal storage of up to 18Tb (6TB x 3) and it is able to accommodate 3 units of SATA III, SATA III x2 + eSATA x1 (optional), or RAID 1, 5 (optional). The video and audio throughput of the NVR is up to 76 Mbps. In addition, the HIQ-3416 supports the function of S.M.A.R.T HDD detection.

As its name suggests, the NVR has 8 PoE ports with max. 72W power output; this PoE standard function is aimed at reducing the material and labour costs in cabling during installation. Instead of buying both a PoE switch and an NVR, a single PoE NVR, HIQ-3416, can perform all the required functions seamlessly at a lower cost, and taking up less space, and without the usual problems associated with system wiring and management.

The 16-channel NVR offers dual video outputs supporting 2 local monitors via HDMI and VGA cable connection. The HIQ-3416 can be operated by either the local UI (User Interface) or the web UI (User Interface). With the local UI, the user operates a USB mouse connected to the NVR for recording and event management.

It is also possible to use the USB keyboard or USB joystick in local UI as alternative to the mouse. Via the web UI, the NVR can be controlled through a web browser with a few clicks from the user’s PC over the internet remotely. Furthermore, an E-map is embedded into the HIQ-3416 web UI; it provides instant event notification along with any HiQview IP cameras’ geographic information. Users can zoom in to a specific region to monitor events from particular cameras within that region. If an event is triggered from a camera located outside of the current viewing area, then the E-map moves automatically to the area where the event trigger camera is located.

A CMS (Central Management System) software is provided as standard with the HIQ-3416, and it provides full functionality for controlling the HiQview NVRs and IP cameras (via NVRs). The HiQview IP surveillance is able to seamlessly search video fractions by date/time, event logs, to stop/pause, fast forward or rewind during playback, and more. If a footage has been recorded in high resolution, viewers can zoom in and out to view the images without losing any detail.
