Hanwha Vision, a recognised provider of vision solutions globally, has unveiled its 2nd Generation X Series Plus cameras, designed with a focus on user convenience and operational efficiency. The new lineup leverages the Wisenet 9 system-on-chip (SoC) and a modular architectural framework to enhance the product lifecycle, ensuring simple installation and easy maintenance.

The X Series Plus stands out for its efficiency, thanks to a magnetic modular structure that reduces installation time while enhancing safety for technicians. Crucially, the new cameras are backward compatible with the 1st Generation Wisenet X Series Plus modular components, allowing users to upgrade to the latest technology by merely exchanging the camera module and dome cover. This feature not only cuts labour expenses but also significantly decreases the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Central to the X Series Plus is the Wisenet 9 AI engine, equipped with a Dual Neural Processing Unit (NPU). By dedicating separate resources for image enhancement and AI analytics, the camera maintains peak performance in both areas. It can detect objects almost in real time while delivering high-quality video and precise data processing, all without compromising system stability.

Built for consistent 24/7 operation, the X Series Plus is equipped with Dual SD card slots for data backup and supports multiple power options, including DC 12V, PoE, and PoE+. A notable feature is the extended IR range, which, when powered with PoE+, reaches up to 50 metres (164 feet), a significant improvement over the standard PoE’s 30 metres (98 feet) range. Additionally, integrated tampering detection triggers an immediate alert if the dome cover is tampered with, protecting critical data and ensuring system reliability.

Hanwha Vision’s Eco Mode incorporates WisePower ECO and WiseStream technologies to lower energy consumption while maintaining security performance. WisePower adjusts power based on infrared illumination needs to optimise energy use while ensuring clear visibility in low-light settings.

Concurrently, WiseStream reduces bandwidth and storage requirements by applying higher compression to non-essential objects, conserving image quality for vital subjects such as people and vehicles.

The X Series Plus prioritizes security, complying with the FIPS 140-3 Level 3 standard to ensure high-grade cybersecurity for all captured data, essential for both government and corporate sectors. Hanwha Vision enhances transparency and cyber resilience by offering a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM), enabling clients to manage vulnerabilities and support compliance.

Furthermore, the company has obtained ISO/IEC 42001 certification for its AI Management System (AIMS), affirming its commitment to a responsible, human-centric approach to AI development.

This launch underscores Hanwha Vision’s ongoing dedication to expanding the Wisenet 9 lineup, aiming to cater to a diverse array of customer needs. Following the introduction of multiple form factors and specialised models, the Wisenet 9 series is set to grow further, offering targeted solutions that address the dynamic challenges within the global security sector.
