Hytera has announced the release of the SC700 Smart 4G Body Camera. As body cameras become increasingly versatile, they are expected to fulfil more than just evidence recording, according to Leslie Li, Deputy General Manager of the BWC Business Unit at Hytera. Li stated that these devices must aid operational awareness and frontline coordination while providing prolonged reliability.
The SC700 is designed to meet these needs, offering up to 15 hours of uninterrupted recording combined with real-time communications and intelligent features to enhance connectivity and preparedness in critical situations.
The SC700 addresses the challenges of limited perspective during fast-paced public safety incidents. Through its Team Sync Recording feature, this body camera activates nearby cameras automatically when one begins recording, capturing multiple views of the same incident.
This capability enhances understanding of environments and situations for both command teams and investigators. Moreover, Intelligent Scene Awareness identifies abnormalities such as man-down events, extended inactivity, and camera obstruction. Alerts are then sent to dispatch centres to expedite responses, ensuring timely support for personnel in the field.
Field operations often contend with high noise levels that impede clear communication. The SC700 employs AI-driven noise cancellation, howling suppression, and features a powerful 2W speaker to maintain reliable communication in such environments.
Looking ahead, software updates are anticipated to expand the SC700’s AI functions to accommodate more intricate scenarios. This includes real-time language translation and visual intelligence enhancements like facial and license plate recognition, all designed to facilitate efficient communication, better situational awareness, and real-time information processing during operations.
Coordinating public safety tasks necessitates ongoing interaction between field teams and command centres. The SC700 facilitates this through real-time HD video and GPS data transmission, offering command units live insight into active situations.
Such capabilities assist with quicker situation assessments, optimised resource deployment, and better operational coordination during both everyday and critical events. Compatibility with Hytera HyTalk PoC allows for seamless communication across broadband and PMR networks, ensuring operational consistency among diverse users and systems.
The SC700 excels in recording comprehensive visual and audio evidence in dynamic environments. Its 160-degree ultra-wide lens and Starlight night vision assure consistent recording in varying light conditions, while a microphone array capable of capturing audio from up to 12 meters ensures detailed documentation.
Operational ease is also a priority; the camera includes a 1.1-inch top display for quick status reviews and a prominent front recording button for simple use in urgent scenarios. Flexible mounting options and rugged durability, evidenced by its IP68 rating and resistance to drops from 1.5 meters, complement its utility in diverse operational settings, withstanding temperatures from -20°C to +60°C.
