Gunnebo Safe Storage is marking three decades of successful collaboration with Thornhill Security, a partnership pivotal in executing intricate security projects throughout Europe.
The alliance between these companies spans a multitude of sectors, including pharmaceuticals and other high-security environments, often demanding innovative solutions for unconventional spaces and requirements. This collaboration has been instrumental in crafting security solutions for modular buildings, where considerations like space, structural integrity, and installation duration are critical.
Through their long-standing association, Thornhill Security has benefitted from early engagement with Gunnebo Safe Storage, integrating technical expertise right from the design and specification stages. This approach ensures that the developed solutions are practical and feasible, especially for projects bearing variable onsite conditions.
Thornhill Security’s owners, Phil Hill and Pete Thorne, reflected on their enduring partnership, stating, “Thirty years of working together comes down to consistency. You know how each other works, you can have direct conversations and you get on with solving the problem in front of you. ‘Adapt. Improvise & Overcome,’ is how we approach every project, and that mindset only works when the people you’re working with take the same approach. This has always been the case with Gunnebo Safe Storage.”
The collaboration has facilitated the delivery of specialist security needs, including the pioneering installation of the first Grade 12 vault within a functioning project setting, alongside rising demands for vault doors and panic rooms at critical infrastructure sites.
Notably, Thornhill is among the initial UK clients to offer the Gunnebo Safe Storage Encry lock, equipped with OTC software for one-time code access, bypassing the necessity for a network connection. The success at this level hinges on a collective adherence to compliance and performance standards, knowledge now being transferred within Thornhill Security to its burgeoning team of locksmiths and safe engineers.
Darran Bailey, Business Development Manager at Gunnebo Safe Storage, commented on the thriving partnership, “This is a partnership that’s grown through doing the work, project by project. There’s a shared understanding of what’s needed and a straightforward way of working together to get there. With projects spanning different countries, and new market opportunities such consistency in the solutions and the technical support makes a real difference. It’s a pleasure to work with Thornhill and we look forward to continuing our partnership for decades to come.”
