Evolv Technologies Holdings, Inc., a company specialising in AI-driven security technology, has announced the implementation of its Evolv Express® system at Pechanga Arena San Diego (PASD).
This arena, a prime multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue in San Diego, California, will now feature the advanced security system that uses sensor technology and artificial intelligence to identify concealed threats. The technology allows individuals to pass through checkpoints smoothly, reducing wait times and easing congestion at entry points.
The introduction of Evolv Express will take place at the 14,000-seat arena, which originally opened in 1966 and is managed by Legends Global.
Known for being the largest indoor venue in the San Diego area, Pechanga Arena is home to the San Diego Gulls from the American Hockey League and the San Diego Seals from the National Lacrosse League. As a venue that hosts over 125 events annually, including family shows and live entertainment, it stands among the top-grossing arenas globally. With this deployment, Evolv has been named the “Official Patron Screening Provider” for the arena.
Sam Hitchcock, Security Manager for Pechanga Arena, expressed satisfaction with the upgrade. “We’re very pleased to bring Evolv Express to Pechanga Arena San Diego,” Hitchcock stated.

The addition of Evolv Express at PASD extends Evolv’s presence in Southern California. Other notable partners include the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Dignity Health Sports Park, the Hollywood Bowl, and SoFi Stadium. The system has also been implemented at the Honda Center in Anaheim and Toyota Arena in Ontario.
In addition to sports and entertainment venues, Evolv systems are utilised by more than 27 school districts and 28 healthcare systems throughout California, marking its widespread influence. Globally, Evolv supports nearly 100 sports and entertainment customers.
