Edwards, a global leader in fire alarm, mass notification and hazard warning systems, has announced the availability of Genesis LED Mass Notification and Genesis LED Outdoor Notification Appliances. These new appliances expand Edwards’ Genesis LED series with enhancements that address critical needs in the market to help provide protection in severe weather conditions and efficient emergency notification in commercial settings.

During an emergency, hearing and understanding the notification of specific event types is critical to safeguarding people and property. From design to installation, the Genesis LED Mass Notification range offering is robust and flexible, while remaining cost effective. The appliance is available in both wall and ceiling formats, both in speaker-strobe and strobe only, as well as strobe expander only options and features superior audio capabilities that exceed the Speech Transmission Index (STI) ‘Excellent’ clarity rating. The Genesis LED Mass Notification is compatible with Edwards and Kidde Commercial brands.

The Genesis LED Outdoor Notification is designed to operate in the harshest of environments, including extreme weather situations. The appliance can handle aggressive climates with an operating temperature range of -40 °F to 151°F and is NEMA 4X / IP66 UL listed to withstand wash down and dust ingress environments.

It has been tested to withstand water ingression with an IP67 Device Rating and features an ultra-low current draw and constant draw across candela output settings. This appliance can be used in outdoor environments, food processing facilities, zoos, hospitals, airports, college campuses, and more.

“The quality and reliability of our products are as critical as bringing forth new innovative capabilities. Expanding the Genesis LED series allows us to introduce new, better solutions for existing gaps and needs,” said Kartik Kumar, VP & GM Commercial Fire, and Edwards Managing Director. “Today’s world needs solutions that can operate in unpredictable environments and weather-related hazards to efficiently alert people when an emergency occurs.”
