Convergint’s Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, Dan Moceri, has received the Security Industry Association’s (SIA) 2023 George R. Lippert Award. Moceri is honoured for his countless contributions to SIA and the greater security industry, establishing Convergint’s strong, service-focused culture and its ongoing commitment to inclusion & diversity, and for his dedication to advancing workforce development initiatives and equity within the security community.

Established in 1989, the award is named in honour of George R. Lippert, who dedicated more than 20 years of his life to the security industry and SIA. The award is presented each year to a distinguished individual for their long-term service to SIA and the security industry, the impact of their efforts on behalf of SIA and the industry and their integrity, leadership, and diplomacy as demonstrated in industry dealings.

Dan Moceri co-founded Convergint with the vision of a company that went beyond a traditional systems integrator—one that is dedicated to being its customers’ best service provider and is guided by core Values and Beliefs that help colleagues stay accountable to their mission, while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment for all. Moceri is recognised for his extensive involvement and support within SIA and across the security sector–devoted to advancing professionalism, equity, and workforce development within Convergint and across the industry.

Dan currently sits on several industry board and advisory seats, including as an Advisory Board Member for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Foundation United, and as a Board Member for the non-profit, Aspire–reflecting Convergint’s commitment to giving back to customers, colleagues, and communities, and to embracing a more safe and inclusive work environment. Further, Moceri is honoured for his and Convergint colleagues’ ongoing involvement with SIA–actively supporting and participating in the organisation’s Wage and Compensation Steering Committee, Woman in Security Committee, Security Industry Compensation Study, the Securing New Ground Conference, and across SIA’s training and professional development programmes.

“On behalf of nearly 10,000 Convergint colleagues, including my co-founder Greg Lernihan, I am honoured to accept the George Lippert Memorial Award. This recognition would not be possible without the outstanding efforts of all Convergint colleagues,” said Dan Moceri, Co-founder and Executive Chairman of Convergint. “Our mission at Convergint has always been to elevate the security industry, which holds such a critical role in our society. This award signifies Convergint’s enduring dedication to both the industry and to the Security Industry Association that has long supported it. Convergint looks forward to continuing its strong relationship with SIA, together growing and uplifting the community of this important profession.”

“Dan Moceri has always been a key driver of the security industry,” said Scott Schafer, principal at SMS Advisors, former SIA Board of Directors chair and 2022 Lippert Award honouree. “He led strong efforts at Siemens USA before building Convergint into one of the top systems integrators in the world. His passion for customers, employees, and partners has always been first rate.”
