“It was an honour to host a select group of end users and consultants at our Technology Showroom,” said JC Powell, Vice President of Sales, West, Boon Edam Inc. “The topics presented were great, but the camaraderie and discussions were even better. We especially appreciate Assa Abloy, Lifesafety Power, and Motorola Solutions for partnering with us on this event.”
The Secured Entry Symposium kicked off with a presentation from Derek Ommert, Director of Business Development at Assa Abloy. “Covering the Bases of Access Control” provided attendees with the advantages and disadvantages of access control applications with emphasis on intelligent openings. This accredited course was available to all attendees and provided 1.0 CPE Unit for ASIS International.
JC Powell, Vice President of Sales, West at Boon Edam, then provided attendees with a tour of Boon Edam’s Technology centre, demonstrating solutions such as the:
● Tourlock 180: The Tourlock 180 security revolving door is an ideal solution for entryways that necessitate high security and high traffic flow. The door easily integrates with an access control system, and due to its four-winged design and working principle, prevents unauthorised entry into facilities, thereby protecting people and assets.
● Speedlane Compact: The newest edition to the Boon Edam premium range of swing barrier optical turnstiles solves the issue of introducing security and safety into small and valuable areas of real estate. The Speedlane Compact confidently delivers all that is required to make visitors feel welcome and secure every day.
● Circlelock Solo: Offering the highest level of physical protection in a security entrance, the Circlelock Solo is the ultimate defence against intrusion into sensitive areas of a building. Ensuring only one authorised person enters at a time, high security portals eliminate the need for manned supervision or guards.
Additional solutions on display and available for demonstration included the Speedlane Swing Optical Turnstile, Winglock Swing Bidirectional Access Gate, TQM Manual Revolving Door, and the Turnlock 150 ASTG Full Height Turnstile.
Skip Lochte, Business Development Manager with Lifesafety Power, then provided attendees with insights on design as it relates to access control followed by Christian Colburn, Business Development Manager from Motorola Solutions, discussing technologies tied to establishing, maintaining, and monitoring the secured entryway.
