Varun Beverages, touted to be one of the largest franchisees of PepsiCo after the USA, had been experiencing a number of grave issues, despite being under analogue surveillance.Their issues included everything from theft to operational inefficiencies by workers. The new IP solution, introduced by Vivotek together with partner, Network Technology brought the plant up to par with the evolving security landscape, and changed the existing analogue video surveillance solutions to IP surveillance solutions for improved video and image quality and enhanced field of view.

Commenting on the successful commissioning of the project, Sanjeev Gulati, Country Manager – India & Saarc, Vivotek Inc. commented, “Despite their existing security surveillance arrangements, Varun Beverages, suffered a number of thefts. Adding to their distress was the poor image quality and limited coverage area of their existing analogue surveillance solutions. Their daily operations suffered, owing to such drawbacks. After having analysed the situation; along with Network Technology, we suggested altering their analogue surveillance solution to IP surveillance solution. We gave them a complete end to end solution from general surveillance to various check points in the plants. The deployment of Vivotek solutions transformed the operational scenario into a more productive and secured one. They are absolutely satisfied by the video and image quality in their current security surveillance system.”

Expressing appreciation, a spokesperson at Varun Beverages commented, “We were very concerned about the issues that we were dealing with; be it security, operational or employee disputes. Vivotek’s IP surveillance system worked with us step by step to not only to provide the robust security solution we were looking for, but also helped us navigate through all our key plant requirements. The IP surveillance system has significantly improved the control over the entire production process and administrative areas of all our production facilities. The solution enables an efficient and centralised security through which the manager can monitor remotely anytime and anywhere promptly and effectively. Vivotek has been really helpful during the planning stage and in providing technical support, which exceeded our expectations; we’re looking forward to providing them with more as their business expands.”

Adding to the technical insights; the video management software used to operate the IP surveillance solution is Vivotek Vast, which is connected to various camera models, including 5-megapixel 360 degree surround view fisheye camera FE8180 , robust full-HD speed dome camera SD8363E (see video as below), 3-megapixel outdoor ready 180 degree view fisheye camera CC8370-HV, 2-megapixel 15 metres IR illuminator fixed dome camera FD8169, and two bullet type cameras IB8369 and IB8367. Vivotek and its associate partner also segregated the cameras for multiple site types on the basis of lens types such as fixed lens camera or vari-focal lens camera for different applications.

Post the deployment of IP surveillance Varun Beverages managed to prevented thefts in the warehouses and plants. The workers and operations staff are now well aware of the enhanced security surveillance in the vicinity, and so stick to the company protocols and live up to the company standards, in terms of hygiene and effective and efficient operations.
