Sensys Gatso wins $700,000 traffic safety contract in Iowa

Sensys Gatso Group, a global leader in traffic safety solutions, through its subsidiary, Sensys Gatso USA, has executed a five-year base-term automated speed enforcement contract with the City of Webster City, Iowa, USA. The contract is estimated to be worth up to USD 720,000 corresponding to SEK 7 million. The programme is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2023 with automated fixed speed systems along two highways in the city.

The demands and expectations that have evolved in recent decades require the City to look at different strategies and resources that enhance the ability of our officers to carry out their duties and maintain a safe community”, said City Manager Daniel Ortiz-Hernandez. “The decision to augment Webster City’s police resources by partnering with Sensys Gatso to install traffic enforcement cameras on crucial roadways where there is high level of danger due to the volume of vehicles travelling at excessive speeds, reflects the City’s commitment to safety for our residents, police officers, and emergency personnel who have to respond to vehicle accidents on these roadways”.
