ProdataKey (PDK), a manufacturer of cloud access control platform solutions built for mobile, is growing its line of Red high-security access control hardware with the introduction of Red Aux 8.

The company’s latest product is an input/output board designed to expand the footprint of PDK systems by extending support to auxiliary devices that require control and monitoring. Door position sensors, motion sensors, alarm intrusion sensors, elevator controls, push buttons, and more can be connected to the board’s eight inputs and eight outputs through wet or dry contact relays to create a more comprehensive, site-wide solution. Prodata Key also comments that its new product can also connect to electric strikes and mag locks, bringing access control to doors that don’t require a reader.

“Since launching our Red line of high-security hardware last year, our customers are loving its flexibility, convenience, hardened security, and affordability. The new Aux 8 brings all those benefits to a broader set of applications,” said Brach Bengtzen, director of marketing, Prodata Key. “It’s the latest example of how we continue to create technology that enhances our products and the products of our technology partners.”

The company explains the Red Aux 8 comes built with PDK Red technology, built-in Ethernet connectivity and self-discovery to simplify IP configuration and functionality. Like other devices in the Red lineup, it includes supervised connectivity, power, and health monitoring.

Wireless and PoE++ communication is available with the PDK wireless or PDK PoE++ module kits. Aux 8 also comes within its own enclosure, and it is also available as an expander board that fits within the fully customizable Red Max. Additionally, Prodata Key points out that dealers can use multiple boards to create a completely scalable solution.
