Insafe, the UK distributor for Chubbsafes, has unveiled a new range of Lithium Ion Battery Safes aimed at safely storing and charging lithium batteries. This line includes two models, the Lithium Ion Battery Safe Lite and the Lithium Ion Battery Safe Pro, catering to varying operational and safety needs in commercial and industrial settings.
Simon Arthur, Managing Director at Insafe, highlighted the increasing significance of fire safety due to the widespread use of lithium batteries in numerous devices and workplace technologies.
Arthur stated, “With lithium batteries now powering a wide range of tools, devices and workplace technologies, fire safety has become a critical consideration. These new Chubbsafes solutions have been developed to help reduce the risks associated with charging and storing lithium batteries, while maintaining practical functionality and ease of use.”
The Chubbsafes Lithium Ion Battery Safe Lite is specifically designed for the secure storage and charging of lithium batteries. Its fire-resistant construction, featuring Euroclass A1 insulation, safeguards against internal and external fire threats.
The cabinet incorporates two fire alarms for early detection of overheating or malfunctions, while surge-protected sockets and perforated steel shelves, supporting up to 50 kilograms per shelf, enhance its functionality. Optional enhancements include electronic locks, additional power strips, and connections to building ventilation systems.
For more demanding environments, the Lithium-Ion Battery Safe Pro offers advanced fire containment and suppression features. Certified to EN 14470-1 and EN 1363-1 standards, it ensures up to 105 minutes of fire protection from outside to inside and 90 minutes from inside to outside.
Constructed to EI 180mm Type A1 and NF EN 13501-2 standards, the Pro model features thermo-expanding door seals for automatic suppression of smoke and flames, alongside surge-protected sockets and adjustable shelves. Additional optional systems include an automatic fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and integrated alarm notifications.

All sizes in both models boast a sturdy RAL 9010 white finish suitable for professional settings.
