Camden has launched the CX-WC17 and CX-WC18 series of Restroom Control Systems, featuring built-in LED annunciation. Of particular note are the VR models, which offer Column switches with an integrated touchless sensor, yet can still be activated mechanically by pressing the full-length centre actuator.

The CX-WC18 line is distinguished by its slim and unobtrusive design, with Column switches measuring only 4-1/2 inches wide. All models boast durable extruded aluminium construction and come with CSA-compliant activation plates. Customers can choose between ‘Side Load’ and ‘Top Load’ options based on their installation needs.

The ‘Top Load’ variants are ideal when there are no obstructions above the switch location, offering a very low-profile of 2-1/4 inches (57mm deep). Installation involves mounting the Column switch vertically on the wall using adjustable levelling screws.

In contrast, ‘Side Load’ models cater to confined spaces and are useful in cases where overhead barriers, like hand-dryers, are present, or where space is limited to areas such as narrow curtain walls or glass spans. Their compact design is particularly suitable for restroom privacy management, especially when multiple units are installed together.

Column switches provide enhanced user convenience and can reduce installation expenses by replacing the need for separate high/low activation switches. This aligns with the increasing demands of building regulations across North America.

The CX-WC18VR series is crafted to adhere to current compliance standards including ADA, NBC, CSA, CSBC, OBC, and the California Building Code. Finishes available are clear aluminum, black, and bronze anodised. ‘PS’ models are upgraded with a pre-wired metal enclosure housing the CX-33PS Power Supply, Transformer, and CX-ED2079 Electric Strike. Additionally, a variety of faceplate graphic designs and multilingual signage are offered.
