Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University (KSKVU) is a state university in Gujarat, that promotes higher education in regional and rural areas of the country. It is named after a revolutionary freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Verma of Kachchh, Gujarat.
In pursuit of providing an effective solution to the Kachchh University’s security challenges and requirements, Hikvision’s partner Yashvi Infotech did the site survey and worked with the key representatives and head of security for Kachchh University, to deliver an effective plan that would provide a customized solution to the security and management needs. Yashvi Infotech is a leading systems integrator, based in Ahmedabad.

“Implementing IP Surveillance Project for KSKVU was a great learning experience. We have built a strong relationship with Hikvision over the past 4 years. We value their experience and expertise to provision security surveillance systems. They work very well with vendor partners to deliver solutions that suit the requirements. They are efficient and their high quality workmanship and service is appreciated. We find their objective advice invaluable, while designing security solutions and selecting equipment to install,” said Mr. Brijesh Thakkar, Director, Yashvi Infotech.

The Kachchh University had the requirement of a fool proof IP Based Surveillance Solution for the university campus. In the past Kachchh University had only 8 surveillance cameras in the administrative building premises. From the security perspective, they were not able to deliver any positive results. The Kachchh University management required a centralized and local building monitoring solution. The project brief included security control room as well Vice Chancellor’s (VC) cabin for mission critical surveillance solution. The Kachchh University campus has 7 different buildings spread in 5 acres.

The Kachchh University management was looking for a customized solution, which can have the facility to share their live classroom lecture with another classroom in case of absence of a professor or something else, and also recording their lecture and uploading that lecture on their server for future.

The process of designing a solution package for Kachchh University was quite comprehensive. The solution comprised of Hikvision’s best 2 line and 4 line series cameras. The requirement of IP cameras for this project was approximately 400. These cameras were deployed in areas including all Classrooms with audio and video, Corridors, Outside of Buildings, Library, Computer Rooms, Staff Rooms, Main Gate with ANPR Solution, Play Area with PTZ, Parking and Hostel. With 24 X 7 monitoring in Local Building, VC’s Cabin as well as Security Control Room.

For Kachchh University Classrooms, Hikvision had a very good recording and broadcasting solution which was able to fulfill their 100 % requirement. Hikvision partner Yashvi Infotech has executed the demo of Proof of Concept (POC) successfully for the Kachchh University Management. The project was executed with 16 Classrooms as a smart classroom with a live lecture with audio and video broadcasting, recording and uploading to their FTP server.
If any student is not able to attend the lecture then he can download the lecture and catch up with the missed lesson.

The Kachchh University Management, Faculty and Students are very happy with the Hikvision Solutions (Surveillance and Lecture Capture and Broadcasting Solution). There is a common feeling among students and university staff that now entire campus has become more secure. With help of Hikvision surveillance solution, Kachchh University Management is able to monitor all the critical areas of the campus. The management has decided that in the future expansion plan, Hikvision broadcasting solution will be added to more classes. Hikvision’s solution has made the Kachchh University campus a more secure centre of knowledge and learning. This is quite remarkable achievement for Hikvision, which is etched in the minds of thousands of Kachchh University students.
