Gunnebo Entrance Control has successfully implemented a major entrance control system at ByteDance’s new Dubai corporate offices located in Media City and Business Centre. This project aims to deliver secure and efficient access for ByteDance, the multinational tech company known for its brands including TikTok, Lark, and Lemon8.

ByteDance has chosen Dubai as the headquarters for its Corporate Services in the Middle East, encompassing various business functions such as security, procurement, and R&D. This initiative underscores ByteDance’s commitment to the region by establishing a significant operational base here.

With the necessity to manage a growing workforce and frequent visitor traffic, ByteDance prioritised a secure workplace environment while enabling smooth operations. The project was crucial for managing access control for numerous employees and contractors, alongside onboarding new staff, to prevent unauthorised access and maintain efficient daily office functions.

Gunnebo Entrance Control collaborated extensively with ByteDance’s internal teams, ensuring the security solutions met both operational and protection needs. This partnership ensured smooth, unobstructed movement in and out of the building, enhancing safety across key areas.

The project involved the installation of twenty-four SpeedStile FLs MAX gates across two locations: seven units in Media City and seventeen in the Business Centre. Designed specifically for bustling corporate environments, these gates provide a blend of security and aesthetics, seamlessly integrating with third-party access control systems.

The compact and adaptable design of SpeedStile FLs MAX incorporates intelligent detection technology to mitigate tailgating and piggybacking risks, allowing only authorised individuals to enter while maintaining a smooth flow of traffic.

The success of the installation required close coordination with ByteDance’s IT departments and civil contractors, aligning the entrance control solutions with the building’s design and operational needs. The completion coincided with the launch of ByteDance’s new headquarters and plays a central role in their entrance control strategy in the region.

Jacob Touma stated, “ByteDance is a global brand with demanding requirements for workplace security and employee experience. Their new Dubai offices mark an important hub for the company’s Middle East future, and the SpeedStile FLs MAX delivers the right balance of safety, efficiency and aesthetics, ensuring smooth movement while maintaining robust protection. This project underlines our commitment to supporting world-leading businesses with reliable, effective entrance control solutions.”
