FLIR has won Intersec Expo’s Security Infrastructure Project of the Year 2018 for their involvement in the Abu Dhabi Monitoring and Control Centre’s (ADMCC) Project, the Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates’ ‘Safe City’ initiative. The Intersec awards are designed to identify and highlight the Security, Safety and Fire Protection best products and projects, exemplifying those of which demonstrate exceptional performance and innovation, of which FLIR is proud to be a part of in 2018.

The Abu Dhabi Monitoring and Control Centre (ADMCC) was created to provide Abu Dhabi with an integrated Smart/Safe City platform across multiple key organisations in the interest of safety and security for citizens and visitors to the Emirate. The key item in all Safe City projects is the integrity of data collection and availability. The video management system is the key central operational platform for all data and gives ADMCC and efficient combination of video software and server hardware.

FLIR Latitude VMS was selected due to its distributed architecture, equipped with unique failover and disaster recovery capabilities, making this wide-scale project possible. ADMCC was formed with the vision to position Abu Dhabi as the world’s safest city, and FLIR is honored to help enable that vision. The organisation implemented a leading solution for public safety, which brings together the intelligence from modern day subsystems such as license plate recognition, facial recognition, video analytics, and video management from over 45,000 sensors spread across Abu Dhabi, under a single, unified FLIR platform, to ensure the safety of the city and its residents around the clock.

The awarded project is unique in its scale and range of state-of-the-art technologies. FLIR’s collaboration with ADMCC helped consolidate this project into a seamless, world-leading deployment and the company is looking forward to working with ADMCC to deliver on their vision.
