Farpointe Data’s Conekt mobile-ready contactless smartcard readers has been added to the Johnson Controls line-up of card readers for use with CEM Systems’ AC2000 access control and security management systems. By integrating traditional 13.56-MHz radio frequency identification (RFID) with 2.4-GHz Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and the latest communications standards—including the Security Industry Association’s (SIA’s) OSDP protocol (ver 2.2)—Conekt is the ideal solution for adding high-security reader technology to any AC2000 system.

As one of the first products to be OSDP Verified by the SIA, Conekt stands at the forefront of advanced reader technology, with the new OSDP protocol now an IEC-approved global standard. In addition, Conekt supports a broad spectrum of contactless smartcard technologies for secure access control applications, including Desfire EV1 and EV2, Legic, and Mifare Classic.

Conekt is mobile-ready and features secure, private, easy-to-use mobile credential management, for those seeking a future-proof solution that can easily incorporate the use of mobile smartphone credentials. Readers are available in a 2-in-1 mullion/single-gang wall-box model, as well as two keypad models that provide the extra protection of two-factor authentication.

“One of the things that stands out with Conekt is its durability,” said Philip Verner, Regional Sales Director, EMEA, CEM Systems. “Conekt readers are fully potted and IP67-rated for outstanding performance that stands up to weather and tampering,” Verner added.
