Omdia’s 2025 market share data highlights Milestone’s dominance in the EMEA video management software (VMS) and Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) sectors, with the company holding 19 per cent of a market valued at USD 573 million. Milestone Systems stands as the foremost provider in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, a position unchanged since 2021.
The VMS and VSaaS market in the EMEA region experienced a significant increase of 10 per cent in 2025, reaching USD 573 million. This growth was notably pronounced in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Organisations are increasingly leveraging video for operational decision-making, enhancing functionalities in areas such as traffic management, transportation, retail, and manufacturing.
Morten Illum, Chief Revenue Officer of Milestone Systems, commented, “This ranking reflects what customers across EMEA continue to look for: open, flexible video technology that gives them choice today and room to evolve tomorrow. Together with our partner community, we help customers design systems around their specific needs, while future-proofing their investment as AI and cloud technologies transform the value of video beyond security.”
Milestone’s robust position is supported by its three main offerings: Milestone XProtect® VMS, Milestone BriefCam® AI-powered analytics, and Milestone Arcules® cloud VSaaS. These solutions provide the flexibility for organisations to utilise video technology on premises, via cloud, or through hybrid settings, while seamlessly integrating analytics.
The UK and Ireland are pivotal markets for Milestone. The company has expanded its presence with the opening of a London Concept Centre. This facility serves as an interactive hub for end users, integrators, and partners to explore and design systems using Milestone’s technology in conjunction with solutions from partners like Axis, Bosch, Gallagher, and others.
Martin McGrath, Sales Director for UK and Ireland at Milestone, stated, “The UK is a demanding market, and rightly so. Organisations increasingly expect their video systems to support business decisions as well as security needs, while continuing to adapt as their operations evolve. Our leading position across EMEA gives customers confidence that the platform they choose today will remain open, supported and continuously developed in the years ahead.”
Milestone is advancing its AI capabilities through Project Hafnia, a regulatory-compliant video data library, alongside brighter AI anonymisation technology. These innovations aim to provide customers with improved insights into AI model training processes.
