In April 2026, SECURITY TODAY was the first to report the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sparsh CCTV and Japan-based Digital Media Professionals Inc. (DMP) for the development of next-generation Edge AI CCTV cameras. The partnership has now moved into its execution phase, with senior representatives from DMP currently visiting India to advance technical discussions and product development initiatives with the Sparsh team.
The visit comes shortly after the two companies announced plans to jointly explore the development of intelligent surveillance cameras powered by DMP’s Edge AI SoC (System-on-Chip) platform, Di1. The partnership aims to combine DMP’s expertise in edge AI semiconductor technology with Sparsh CCTV’s strengths in camera design, engineering, manufacturing and system integration.
Di1 is a next-generation System-on-Chip (SoC) designed for advanced edge AI cameras, integrating DMP’s proprietary Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and a proven Image Signal Processor (ISP) from iCatch Technology. Di1 delivers exceptional image recognition and camera processing capabilities, ideal for applications in mobility, robotics, smart cameras, smart cities, and smart factories.
According to a recent disclosure by Sparsh CCTV, the DMP delegation is currently engaging with the Sparsh team in India to further discussions around product development, technical integration and future roadmap planning. The visit underscores the commitment of both organizations to accelerate the development of AI-enabled surveillance solutions designed for emerging market requirements.
The collaboration is focused on developing surveillance cameras capable of performing advanced AI processing directly on the device, reducing dependence on cloud infrastructure while improving real-time performance, bandwidth efficiency and data security. Edge AI is increasingly being viewed as the next major evolution in video surveillance, enabling cameras to move beyond passive recording towards intelligent decision-making at the source.
Under the MoU, DMP is expected to provide its Di1 Edge AI semiconductor platform along with technical support, while Sparsh CCTV will lead camera hardware design, system development, integration, prototyping and performance evaluation. The two companies have indicated that prototype development and validation activities are expected to progress over the coming months.
For Sparsh CCTV, the partnership aligns with its strategy of developing future-ready, intelligent surveillance solutions built on indigenous design and manufacturing capabilities. For DMP, the engagement provides an opportunity to expand the deployment of its Edge AI technology in India’s rapidly growing surveillance market.
Industry observers will be watching closely as the collaboration moves from concept to prototype, with the potential to strengthen India’s position in the development of advanced AI-powered surveillance technologies.
