Commvault has announced a strategic collaboration with Microsoft, focusing on enhancing AI and cyber resilience as enterprises intensify their movement to cloud-based solutions. This partnership aims to bolster security and scalability for AI applications while addressing the increasingly complex landscape of data security threats.
As part of this collaboration, Microsoft will integrate Commvault’s AI and cyber resilience offerings as a native ISV service within Microsoft Azure. This integration will enable Azure users to easily access and implement Commvault’s resilience technologies directly via the Azure cloud platform. These tools are designed to facilitate rapid recovery and restoration of data, applications, and identities in the event of cyber-attacks, system outages, or human errors.
This initiative promises a unified experience in terms of procurement, onboarding, and operations for Commvault users, eliminating the need for additional infrastructure, manual integrations, or outside tools.
Sanjay Mirchandani, President and CEO of Commvault, highlighted the enhanced partnership with Microsoft, stating, “For over 25 years, we’ve partnered with Microsoft and now we’re taking that collaboration to the next level… With this joint commitment, we can also make best-in-class resilience plug-and-play for Microsoft customers.”
Girish Bablani, President of Azure Core at Microsoft, emphasised the importance of integrating Commvault’s services, noting, “Customers rely on Azure as a resilient foundation for their cloud and AI workloads. Supporting Commvault natively gives them more choice in how they protect and recover their data, with a more seamless experience inside Azure.”
Large enterprises such as banks, retailers, and healthcare providers are increasingly challenged to modernise infrastructure, mitigate growing cyber threats, and incorporate AI transformation. Consequently, resilience is becoming a critical component for digital and AI-driven projects, with boards and executives prioritising these investments.
