January 28th marked the 17th Data Privacy Day (DPD) recognition, an international effort to build awareness around the importance of privacy standards and protecting personal information. According to Alcatraz AI, findings from the 2025 Global Digital Trust Insights share that only 2% of executives have implemented cyber resilience actions in their organisation.
It was also noted from the research that while executives are aware of the increased potential for cyber breaches, only 15% of executives have measured the financial impact. This Data Privacy Day, one of the main conversations will surround how organisations can fill the gap, ensuring they understand the impact of privacy efforts and the consequences if action is not taken.
According to Alcatraz AI, one of the easiest solutions for companies is to implement security systems in which data privacy is already built-in, creating peace of mind for executives and all users of the system.
UtilisIng opt-in services for facial authentication allows users to have peace of mind, knowing their personal data is protected, even through strengthened security protocols.
Alcatraz AI’s latest offering, Rock X, promises enhanced security performance and adaptability, while also complying with various global privacy regulations like BIPA, CCPA and GDPR. In this system, users utilise their face as their credential, eliminating risk factors that come along with traditional security methods like passcodes and keycards.
In the company’s latest ebook Alcatraz AI shares that the 2023 average cost of a data breach from a physical security penetration at $4.1 million, and that 10% of those data breaches come from a physical breach. The company is working to combat these breaches, notably, for example, through preventing reverse engineering of images from their security systems by not storing images of users’ faces – the system eliminates personally identifiable information (PII) through its one-way algorithm.
