3D X-Ray has won a contract to supply one of the UK’s Constabularies leading counter terror units with four Threatscan-LSC Portable X-Ray Systems. The contract was awarded after a rigorous selection process. Many competing systems were tested in demanding scenarios, where Wifi range and operating around corners can prove extremely difficult.

But the Threatscan-LSC System repeater and Wifi range extender technology proved more than capable of performing effectively in these uniquely challenging conditions. The systems are being delivered on a short lead time, with training provided.

The system can penetrate 34mm of steel at 120kV as standard, it can scan to near ground level, enabling typical suspect objects to be scanned in one quick scan, enabling operators to establish very quickly whether the suspect bag or package poses a threat. The 3D X-Ray Threatscan-LSC consists of a portable x-ray inspection system that includes two panels: the large format LS1 panel and the compact LS3 panel.

The LS1 panel has a large imaging area of 600mm x 460mm, to scan typical bags and packages in one scan, yet is still remarkably lightweight and incredibly thin. The smaller LS3 panel is more compact with an imaging area of 305mm x 256mm, and is for use where access to suspect packages is limited.

The Threatscan-LS3 is designed for ease of use and rapid deployment for a single operative. Threatscan systems operate with the intuitive and user-friendly Threatspect software to produce high quality, sub-millimetre high resolution images, with a range of sophisticated image processing functions, including materials discrimination, pan, zoom and Deepfocus.
3D X-Ray Ltd, Sales and Marketing Director, Vincent Deery said: “We are delighted to have come through this rigorous selection process and beaten all our competition to secure this prestigious contract.”
