Alarmtech detector upgraded to VdS Class C

Alarmtech Sweden, a leading company in the development and manufacture of high quality security equipment has announced that the company’s VD 500 seismic detector has been updated with VdS approval class C. Designed for excellent detection ability, the new VD 500 incorporates inventive algorithms and the latest electronics. With these new features it is possible to offer one reliable detector covering multiple applications.

Standard applications protect a wide range of objects such as safes, strong rooms and ATM machines amongst others. However, seismic detectors are also used today in banking, museums, military services, weapon cabinets, ticket- and vending machines etc.
This miniature, low-profile detector for applications with limited space includes featured highlights including a noise filter system providing high immunity to environmental noise; a quick sensitivity adjustment facility in 4 ranges using a DIP switch; built-in settings for protection of walls, ATMs and depository safes.

The detector incorporates a user programmable mode for customised settings, and a built-in self-test generator and a tamper-lid and removal detection facility. The device supports a wide range of supply voltage – from 8 to 30 V and there is also low-voltage indication – detection. A built-in events log ensures all information is maintained and a built-in PC interface provides facility for a monitoring software support package. There is also a temperature alarm at 75°C or at a rate of rise of 6°C/min.
