Teledyne FLIR OEM has introduced its newest model in the Neutrino ISR Series, the Neutrino SX8 ISR 50-1000. This model represents a significant extension of the series with its longest-range capabilities and a 20x Continuous Zoom (CZ). It stands as a notable advancement in the company’s efforts to cater to extensive Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) needs.
The Neutrino SX8 ISR 50-1000 is specifically designed to address evolving demands in perimeter security, border surveillance, and Counter-UAS (C-UAS) operations. According to Jared Faraudo, Teledyne FLIR OEM’s vice president of product management, the unit is poised to tackle long-range requirements with unrivaled detection, recognition, and identification (DRI) capabilities. The model offers vehicle detection at distances up to 34 km, recognition at 23.5 km, and identification at 20 km.
As a comprehensive solution for integrators building mid- to long-range ISR systems, the Neutrino SX8 ISR 50-1000 integrates Teledyne FLIR OEM’s Neutrino Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) camera modules with pre-integrated CZ lenses. This combination aims to reduce development risks and streamline the time to market by providing a unified camera, lens, and electronics package.
Featuring a cooled 1280×1024 thermal resolution Neutrino SX8 MWIR sensor, the unit offers high thermal sensitivity and superior imaging quality. The included 50 mm to 1000 mm CZ lens is factory-fitted, ensuring ease of integration and peak performance. It is equipped with a Teledyne FLIR FL100 Stirling cooler, boasting a mean time to failure (MTTF) of over 27,000 hours and backed by a two-year warranty.
With an emphasis on seamless integration, the SX8 model comes with AgileCore™ imaging electronics, allowing for straightforward connectivity through its industry-standard interfaces such as Gigabit Ethernet, Camera Link, and HD-SDI.
The product is also Prism™ AI ready, supporting advanced AI models for enhanced detection, tracking, and classification. Users can also take advantage of Prism ISP libraries for improved data through super-resolution and atmospheric turbulence mitigation.
The Neutrino SX8 ISR 50-1000 meets NDAA compliance standards and is ITAR-free, classified under the U.S. Department of Commerce as EAR 6A003.b.4.a. This classification facilitates international collaborations. Additionally, developers benefit from access to an extensive software development kit (SDK), integration support, and documentation provided by Teledyne FLIR OEM’s technical services team.
