Specialized Security Products (SSP) has recently introduced the new WKIT500 wireless access controller to their existing wide range of access control products which is now added to the Norbain product portfolio.
The WKIT500 includes a compact keypad with proximity reader 135mm (H) x 54mm (W) x 19mm (D), an exit push-button 83mm (H) x 40mm (W) x 16mm (D) and a receiver-relay module 65mm (L) x 54mm (W) x 19mm (D). The keypad and exit button are battery operated and due to an ultra-low power consumption, a battery life of up to one year is typical (based on 30 operations a day).
The receiver-relay module needs to be hard-wired to a 12Vdc power supply such as the PSU3A-12(B) to enable operation. The wireless communication function makes it ideal for installations where cables are difficult to run or would be unsightly. The built-in proximity reader offers the convenience of use via proximity cards/fobs in addition to PIN-code access via the keypad (4-8-digit PINs are allowable). Up to 500 users can be enrolled using any mix of PIN-codes or EM proximity cards/fobs (125kHz). Wireless operation is up to 15 metres, using the 2.4GHz frequency.
The relay has COM/NO/NC dry contacts rated at 2 amps maximum, the open time is programmable between 1-99 seconds and can also be set to latch on/off. Other features include Black ABS plastic casings, LED status indicators, easy programming via keypad and rolling-code encryption which provides a high-level of security. It should be noted that the WKIT500 is suitable for indoor use only.
