Schlage®, a longstanding figure in home security and access solutions for over a century, has been named the most trusted door lockset and hardware brand in the 2026 America’s Most Trusted® Door Locks & Hardware Study by Lifestory Research.
This accolade marks the seventh year in a row that Schlage has been recognised with this honor, affirming its place as a preferred choice for home security solutions among consumers.
The 2026 America’s Most Trusted Survey polled 7,209 individuals nationwide who had been actively seeking door locks and hardware over the previous year. Participants ranked brands based on several performance indicators such as trust, quality, and performance.
Schlage emerged on top among leading door hardware and lock brands, with a Net Trust Quotient Score of 117.0.

Lifestory Research has been instrumental in highlighting consumer trust in brands for over a decade. Brands included in the final ranking must achieve sufficient survey responses to ensure a 95% confidence level with a margin of error of 3% or less. Once these criteria are met, results are compared across similar-sized and complex peer organisations.
