Salto has introduced the XS4 Face, an advanced access control system, which employs face recognition technology to provide fast and secure access to Salto access points. This innovative solution eliminates the need for traditional keys or keycards, granting users entry with just their face. The system is engineered to prioritise privacy, allowing access in under a second while maintaining the flexibility and user experience that Salto is known for.
The XS4 Face has been designed for ease of installation and operation, meeting high security and privacy standards. It features automated hardware and software setup, which simplifies deployment and addresses typical installation challenges. Salto’s comprehensive approach ensures that high-security measures are integrated into the user experience, allowing for quick access without compromising safety.
Onboarding new users is facilitated through a straightforward process that does not require app downloads or visit to a registration point. Instead, the XS4 Face system provides a mobile self-enrolment procedure, making it easy for users to enrol on any device from any location. This design ensures a seamless and frictionless user experience.
Privacy is a cornerstone of the XS4 Face system. Images are not stored; instead, the system converts the user’s image into a biometric template for immediate comparison and deletion within 0.3 seconds. The inclusion of liveness detection technology helps prevent fraudulent access attempts using photographs or masks.
The XS4 Face integrates effortlessly with existing Salto door locks and infrastructure, enhancing the smart access ecosystem managed by Salto’s Space SVN data-on-card access system.
The system supports multiple credential options—such as face recognition, mobile keys, RFID keycards, fobs, and PIN codes—enabling organisations to create customised access strategies tailored to various needs and environments. Salto’s latest offering underscores its commitment to delivering a secure, adaptable access control solution that aligns privacy with usability.
