The award recognises the innovative and unique features available in Redscan Pro, and in the words of the Detektor Awards jurors “With this impressive laser detection sensor, Optex has created a clearly winning concept and truly strengthened its position as an innovation leader in the security industry”.

Extremely reliable and versatile, Redscan Pro range uses Lidar technology to create a high-resolution virtual laser wall or plane up to 100m long, The sensor features an integrated panoramic assistance camera, that allows it to visualise the detection area and make a first optical alignment. Redscan Pro is also ONVIF protocol (Profile S) compliant, meaning it allows alarm outputs and the video stream from the assistance camera to be sent to any ONVIF-compliant network video system or IP network devices.

The series includes two models the RLS-3060V and the RLS 50100V featuring respectively 30 x 60 m and 50 x 100 m detection range in high resolution. The detection pattern is rectangular (instead of fan-shaped) allowing it to protect easily from corner to corner: facades, flat roofs of commercial buildings and perimeter structures of large installations.

The award was received by Mark Cosgrave, Optex Divisional Manager for the Nordics and Southern Europe, during the Awards ceremony which took place on the 27th of October at Stockholmsmässan in Sweden, in conjunction with the security technology event Sectech Expo & Seminars.

The Detektor International Award was introduced in 2000 and its prestige is derived from the fact that there is no formal entry process. Instead, each year, the Detektor International Awards panel of jurors analyse the security market to discover, nominate and vote for the products which demonstrate the most innovation, versatility and user-friendliness.
In this 2021 edition twelve manufacturers were awarded and four of them were chosen as the overall winner in their respective product category: ID & Access Control, Alarm & Detection, Video Surveillance and IoT Security.
