The Iris ID Face PAD algorithm version 2.4.2 has successfully cleared the Level 1 Ibeta Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) compliance tested with Iris ID Ibar 600E. The certification underscores Iris ID’s commitment to delivering solutions with the highest standards of biometric security, accuracy and reliability.
Conducted by Ibeta Quality Assurance, one of the world’s leading third-party accredited biometric testing laboratories, the PAD test evaluates a product’s resilience against presentation attacks — commonly known as “spoofing.” Passing the Level 1 PAD assessment verifies that Iris ID’s Face PAD algorithm is highly effective at distinguishing between genuine biometrics of a live person and fraudulent attempts using fakes such as photos, videos, or masks.
The test method applied one real subject presentation that alternated with 3 artefact presentations. Each test consisted of 150 presentation attacks and 50 bona fide presentations, or until 8 hours passed. There were a total of 900 attacks, resulting in an Attack Presentation Classification Error Rate of 0%. This means the Face PAD algorithm and the accompanying hardware could not be fooled.
