Detection Technology has announced the commercial availability of AIDA, its comprehensive all-in-one CT detector system. After successful customer assessments, this system is ready for widespread deployment in both rotating and static computed tomography (CT) applications and is equipped for future photon-counting CT (PCCT) technologies.

AIDA presents a scalable hardware–software platform, adaptable to various CT configurations and performance needs. By incorporating detector modules, data combiner and control boards, optimised slip ring interfaces, and the company’s proprietary API compatible with the GigE Vision protocol, AIDA offers a streamlined system design and superior data performance.

The system manages data transfer rates of tens of gigabits per second during a single CT rotation, with scalability towards hundreds of gigabits per second. This innovative framework enhances imaging coverage, reduces view times, improves temporal resolution, and advances material discrimination, making it a reliable foundation for both traditional CT and emerging PCCT applications.

“AIDA is a highly adaptable and future-ready CT detector platform,” states Arve Lukander, President of the EMEIA Business Unit at Detection Technology. “With its modular and scalable architecture, customers can deploy a single, unified solution across multiple CT modalities while preparing for the increasing performance demands of photon-counting technology.”

The modular design of AIDA decreases system complexity, minimises interfaces, and streamlines supply chains, thereby reducing the time-to-market. It ensures scalability to meet evolving imaging requirements across medical, security, and industrial sectors.
