Comm Port will be presenting the latest features of its under vehicle surveillance system (UVSS) at Intersec, Dubai, in January 2020. The CPAS series uses colour area scanning technology to effectively scan and inspect the undercarriage of vehicles for real-time search and analysis of images for explosive devices, suspicious objects or contraband- such as drugs, weapons or explosives (IED).

According to the company, with CPAS there is no waiting, as is often found with similar systems on the market. Security analysts can view the entire length of any vehicle in real-time and in full colour. Also, there is no need for an expensive image-processing computer or control unit. Security personnel can view live footage with no delay and effective image quality.

The system captures in high definition colour, even with vehicles moving up to 75 KM per hour. Images captured are created in either H.264 or MJPEG with scanning cameras available in 400 FPS up to 900 FPS. The ruggedised, heavy-duty base plate is made of high quality diamond plate steel with a scanner and LED light arrangement integrated into the compact enclosure.

Weight bearing capacity comes as standard with a 48-ton capacity or an optional 110-ton capacity. CPAS is designed to withstand harsh environments, rugged terrain, and extreme temperatures while the system cameras and light sources are encased in a sturdy weather-proof housing.
