Chubbsafe, a part of Gunnebo Safe Storage, in collaboration with VOUROS O.E., has successfully completed the custom design and installation of secure storage solutions for a luxurious private estate consisting of 13 villas located in the Cycladic Islands, Greece.
The project addressed a need for dependable storage capabilities for jewellery, watches, and essential documents, covering both personal suites and organisational spaces. Traditional safes noted for their superior security were deemed cumbersome and aesthetically intrusive, prompting a reevaluation of the options available.
In response to these challenges, the project specified the deployment of compact safes that boast certified burglary resistance. These safes offer versatile anchoring possibilities and a lighter build, allowing for their installation within closets and other unobtrusive areas, thereby preserving the architectural and decorative integrity of the villas.
Georgios Vouros, Managing Director of VOUROS O.E., remarked on the trend in the Greek luxury property sector, highlighting the expectation of homeowners for certified protection that seamlessly integrates into sophisticated interiors. The safes’ design facilitates do-it-yourself installation, ensuring minimal impact on residents. This project builds on a long-standing partnership which dates back to 1956 when VOUROS first introduced Chubbsafes to the Greek market, ultimately becoming their exclusive distributor in 1997.
The initiative exemplifies how technology, initially developed for high-security environments like banks and jewellers, can be adapted for residential use, offering certified protection to EN 1143-1 and EN 1300 standards through mechanical or electronic locks that are suitable for private residences.
The project’s success underscores a demand among luxury homeowners for a level of certified security traditionally available to institutional clients, tailored to the needs of modern domestic lifestyles.
