Taiwan’s AVTech Corporation, was founded in 1996 and today ranks as one of the pioneering video surveillance manufacturers worldwide. Since becoming publicly listed in 2005, AVTech has been consistently ranked as one of the largest publicly listed video surveillance companies in Taiwan.

However, the last several years has seen the Taiwan video surveillance market slow down considerably due to price competition with many of the mainland Chinese vendors. Yet, with the changing political and economic landscape, AVTech is poised to make a strong recovery in not only the Taiwan market but in the worldwide market as well. AVTech is able to bring to the market feature rich, high performance products that address the growing market demands while matching the mainland Chinese competitors in cost by partnering with strong technology vendors such as Techpoint with their HD-TVI 5.0 technology and the SOC vendor Novatek.

Furthermore, there is one unique factor that AVTech is able to address that mainland Chinese vendors cannot. This factor has grown in importance in the last year due to global political reasons: the need for a product to be NOT made in mainland China. This requirement has become exceedingly important to many OEM customers due to the ramping trade tensions built up globally. Previously due to cost reasons, many of the OEM customers worldwide have OEMed over 95% of their products from mainland China.

Now, AVTech is not only able to match the competitive cost of their mainland Chinese competitors, they are able to differentiate their offerings by using the Taiwan DVR SOC vendor Novatek (instead of Hisilicon which is predominantly used in the majority of Chinese DVR vendors), and adopting Techpoint’s HD-TVI 5.0 technology. Techpoint’s HD-TVI 5.0 technology allows audio and HD video to be transmitted over one cable along with camera control signals over long distances.
