Winston-Salem based AlarmQuest has purchased certain assets of Homeguard Burglar and Fire Alarm Inc. Founded in 1978 and based in Gastonia, N.C., Homeguard provides both residential and commercial security and fire protection. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Homeguard marks the 2nd acquisition by AQ in the Gastonia market, further expanding its geographic reach in western North Carolina. “We have known Sam Barnette and Homeguard for a very long time — he and his family have been leaders in the security industry for over 43 years. Their legacy and brand complement our 2021 acquisition of Gastonia-based Metrolina Alarms, giving alarmQuest a formidable presence in the Gastonia and surrounding markets.
